The Challenge for ARKA Builders
ARKA Builders has built a solid reputation in the construction industry over the past decade, specializing in high-quality commercial and residential projects. They knew they could expand their business by successfully securing more government contracts. To navigate the complexities of the bidding landscape and present their capabilities in the best light, ARKA Builders decided to collaborate with seasoned bid writing professionals (psst– that’s us!).
However, ARKA Builders needed a couple of registrations to even qualify for the bid they wanted to submit. Adding to these hurdles, the entity requesting responses decided to change their request after our initial bid submission! With so much change and uncertainty, AKRA knew they’d made the right decisions when they decided to work with The Bid Lab.
The Solution for ARKA Builders
The process of responding to government bids often involves navigating complex requirements and multiple layers of certifications. In this instance, The Bid Lab initially assisted ARKA Builders with their bid, which included two specific sub-project registration processes. These registrations were for the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and SAM.gov Small Business Enterprise (SBE) registrations.

Answer: Of course!
In the meantime, we gathered past information to organize into a comprehensive ARKA Builders brand library. We used past branding materials and content to create templates for this bid and future bids. These foundational steps were essential for laying the groundwork for their proposal. However, the entity then threw us a curveball: they decided to revise the original solicitation and reissue it!
This added an additional layer of complexity to the process, of course. But remember those solicitation response templates? Well, those certainly came in handy! Thanks to those templates and our content library, we didn’t need to start from scratch.
After reviewing the new requirements, we dug into the registrations early on. The Metro SBE registration process was particularly extensive. We worked with ARKA Builders to collect multiple forms, documents, and letters for which we had to create templates.
Using the work we’d already performed for ARKA Builders as a new and improved template, we reorganized and pushed the process forward. with the trickier aspects of the reissued RFP. Although the reissue had added a tricky layer of complexity, we were soon back on track. We were able to review our new documents and tailor responses to the new specifications within the given timeframe. Soon, the ARKA Builders’ proposal was in the hands of the evaluators

The Results of the Engagement
Thanks to the adaptable nature of our work and ARKA Builders’ collaborative team, we were able to navigate the multiple challenges associated with this bid. Ultimately, we completed five separate projects to conquer this bid!
So, by working closely with ARKA, we were able to support their journey from start to finish. Now, they’re successfully registered and certified to bid for future opportunities. And when they’re ready to submit another proposal, they’ll have a comprehensive template to use as a starting point. They’re equipped to build on their current and future successes!
